The first European settler in the area was convict escapee William Buckley between 1803 and 1835, who briefly lived in a cave with local Aborigines at Point Lonsdale, above which the lighthouse was later built. Permanent European settlement began in 1836 when squatters arrived. Shortland's Bluff was named in honour of Lieutenant John Shortland, who assisted in the surveying of Port Phillip. Land sales began in 1853, the same year the name was changed to Queenscliff by Lieutenant Charles La Trobe, in honour of Queen Victoria. The Post Office opened on 1 May 1853 as Shortland's Bluff and was renamed Queenscliff in 1854.Originally a fishing village, Queenscliff soon became an important cargo port, servicing steamships trading in Port Philip. I went in to get a new cover and some other parts for my weber kettle and I was blown away by the friendly and helpful customer service. Sally and the team couldn't have been nicer and they even helped carry my stuff out to the car when they saw me struggling with my toddler.
We had a great experience with Sally. She knew everything about the fireplaces we were looking at and was able to answer all of our questions. Sally was extremely helpful and gave us a really good deal on our purchase. We will definitely be recommending her to our friends and family. Thank you!
The Nectre N60 log fire was recommended to us with tear drop hearth. It’s absolutely stunning, perfect for our space. Couldn’t be happier with the service, product and price.
Was delighted to see the new location and the move to a full time Weber Dealership. Had great service and got what I wanted. Well done to the team.
